Practice Reviews
1) I cannot thank the practice enough for their patience and dedication in helping me transition theoretical knowledge from my first year of Veterinary Nursing at Harper Adams University into practical skills. The staff at Burghley are incredibly kind and consistently willing to share their wisdom. This supportive environment fosters learning, respect, and kindness. When mistakes are made, the focus is on constructive feedback and guidance rather than criticism, ensuring a positive learning experience.
I would especially like to thank Dr. Michelle Moggridge, Victoria Barrett-Dean, and the entire Veterinary Nursing team for their invaluable assistance, patience with my numerous questions, and tolerance of my occasional blunders. Their support has been instrumental in my development.
I wholeheartedly recommend Burghley Veterinary Centre as a training practice for aspiring VNs and a workplace for Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs) and veterinarians. Additionally, it is an excellent veterinary practice for pet owners seeking the highest quality care for their pets. My time at Burghley has been immensely rewarding, and I am grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow in such a nurturing environment.
- Anya, SVN at Harper Adams University
2) I joined Burghley Veterinary Centre almost 2 years ago after relocating to the area. I have worked within the veterinary profession for over 35 years now off and on, initially as a RVN and more recently as Practice Manager at Burghley. One of the main reasons for me choosing Burghley Veterinary Centre was due to the fact that it is an independent surgery and also, when I initially came for my interview, I was made to feel so welcome straight away and I could see, from that first meeting, how much of a ‘team’ I was being welcomed into and that was so important to me. I have worked in a range of practices ranging from charity to first opinion and also referrals both independent and corporate and I can honestly say that my ‘work family’ here at Burghley are just so amazing to work with, supportive and hard working and we all work together to maintain a very high standard of veterinary care to our clients and their pets. Michelle Moggridge, the practice owner, provides me with lots of positive feedback and encouragement in my relatively new role as Practice Manager and the rest of team work tirelessly to provide the best level of care possible.
On a different note, the location of our main surgery in Stamford, Lincs, is just beautiful and very picturesque. We are a 2 minute walk from the centre of this pretty town which has good links for the train and buses too. There are a variety of shops and supermarkets in Stamford and a well equipped leisure centre also. Our branch surgery is 8 miles away from our main surgery in Deeping St.James and is a consult only clinic. Deeping St.James again is a lovely large village and the clinic is set within a small community of shops in a pleasant residential area with beautiful surrounding countryside.
- Victoria, Burghley Practice Manager
3) The team have been so welcoming since joining Burghley Veterinary centre in March 2024 as a receptionist. Having no experience in this field, I received thorough training and I am beyond happy in my role here. Nestled in the charming town of Stamford, Burghley Veterinary Centre is a lovely independent practice whose staff show such personal care and compassion for all the pets they see through the doors of the practice. Support is always on hand and I hope to work here for many more years to come
- Katy
4) Burghley Veterinary Centre is an independent, family run practice in the quaint historic market town of Stamford, it also has a smaller practice in Deeping St James. It is run by a dedicated, hard working staff, or should I say ‘family’ which I have had the pleasure of being a part of over the past few months. Everyone has been very welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful - nothing is too much trouble, which has certainly made work more a pleasure than a chore! I look forward to continuing my journey within this family environment. Oooh and you get free eggs too!
- Gill, Receptionist
5) As a newly qualified nurse the team at Burghley Veterinary Practice have been ever so welcoming. I genuinely enjoy coming into work every day and being surrounded by such a supportive, patient and understanding team.
A team with access to innovative resources including the AI Imagyst which is very interesting to work with!
Overall, this lovely practice is located in the picturesque town of Stamford. Permitting idyllic lunch breaks with just a 5 minute walk down to the River Welland.
- Bethan, RVN
6) I have been out of nursing for a few years. I got recommended by a colleague to come for a chat with Michelle. I liked the feel of the practice and Michelle was lovely. When I started everyone was so friendly, welcoming and helpful, they made me feel part of the team from the first day
- Leah, RVN
