Who see's my information?

Only practices you’ve joined (via Locum Bank or application) can view your full profile. Ensure your profile is complete in order to see the jobs/locum banks available 

Why should I update my availability?

Your holiday and unavailability must be kept up to date so:

  • Practices don’t offer shifts you can’t take

  • You don’t double-book yourself

  • Your Locum Bank can see when you’re free

Soon, your Locum Bank practices will see your availability automatically.

What is a locum bank? 

A Locum Bank is a practice’s private pool of locums.  
Joining banks is the most important action you can take because:

  • You get notified FIRST when they post shifts

  • You become a preferred locum

  • You often receive shifts before they go public

More banks joined = more shifts in your inbox 
You will be joining independent and individual locum banks, practice's control and maintain their own banks on MFL. 

Can I message a practice directly?

Yes — each practice has a Chat option.
Use it for documents, questions, or shift confirmations. You can speak with a practice, before, during and after booking shifts. 

How do I join a Locum Bank?

Go to the Jobs Page or a practice's MFL profile page hit “Join Locum Bank. Ensure you are compatible with the practice first, they will review and accept locums based on skills and team dynamic. 

Can I change my details later?

Yes. All profile information can be edited anytime through your dashboard.

​​What if I get stuck during identity checks?

Email us — we can manually override permissions and get you verified. We will ask you first if you are using the correct formats; either; JPEG, PNG, PDF

How do platform notifications work?

You’ll receive email notifications for:

  • New shifts from applied locum banks 

  • Messages in your inbox

  • Locum Bank requests 

  • Shift updates (changes, cancellations)

More notifications (SMS + push) are coming soon.

How do I send documents or invoices to practices?

Right now, locums can upload documents or send invoices directly via Practice Chat.
Full invoicing + payments will be coming in a future release.

Why are there only a few shifts right now?

Because practices are still onboarding.
Over the next 2–3 weeks, expect a rapid increase as Locum Banks and dashboards fill.

How do I find shifts?

Once you have completed your profile - Use the Jobs Page.
Right now, shifts may be limited while practices set up — but this will grow quickly over the next 1–2 weeks.

Can I apply for just part of a shift?

Yes — and this is exactly what Shift Split is designed for.

If a practice posts a shift that covers multiple days or a full week, you can apply for a minimum of 1 day. 
This means:
✔ You can take only the days that suit you
✔ Practices still get the full week covered
✔ Gaps auto-open for other locums
✔ No back-and-forth negotiations

What is the traffic light system on my calendar?

🟢 Green = Booking Confirmed
You’re officially booked for this shift.
The practice has accepted your application, and the day is locked in.

🟡 Yellow = Pending
You’ve applied for this shift, but it has not yet been confirmed by the practice.
This helps prevent double-booking while you wait for a response.

🔴 Red = Unavailable / Cancelled
Either:

  • You’ve marked yourself as unavailable or on holiday or

  • A shift you were booked for has been cancelled

Can I edit my profile after joining a Locum Bank?

Absolutely — you can update:

  • Bio

  • Skills

  • Rates

  • Documents

  • Certificates

  • Availability

Changes show instantly to all practices you’re connected with.

How do I withdraw from a shift if something changes?

Use the 'cancel' button to the right of your upcoming shift. Write a reason to let the practice know.

Can I see which practice I’m working at and when?

Yes.
Your Calendar and Shifts pages show:

  • Practice name

  • Location

  • Shift times

  • Status (pending/confirmed)

  • Any notes from the practice

You can click any shift to open the full details.

Yes.
On your Dashboard Calendar, use the drop-down in the top right corner to select a locum.
You’ll instantly see:

  • Their upcoming shifts

  • When they’re next due in

What happens at the end of creating a vacancy?

When a shift is ready to send out, you can choose:

  1. Send to one specific locum

  2. Send to a locum off the platform

  3. Send to your entire Locum Bank

  4. Do nothing → it goes to all eligible locums

You can change this at any time using Edit Vacancy.

Flexible targeting = faster, more relevant fills.
